Day 1: 17-05-2019, Friday: #

09.30 - 10.00 Hrs: Presentation by the Principal on the overall profile of the School. Briefing on compliance with the observations in the inspection report of AY 2018-19.

10.00 - 11.00 Hrs: Verification of Documents _

  1. Land record documents showing area, ownership, land use.
  2. Plans of all buildings and all the floors, clearly mentioning dimensions as well as use.
  3. Approved drawings of building along with the letter of approval from a competent authority.
  4. The audited statement of documents.
  5. TDS statement of all faculty members.
  6. Salary statement of last and current academic year.
  7. Letter of affiliation from affiliating university valid for current AY.
  8. Selection Committee reports for all full-time faculty members.
  9. Academic certificates of all full-time faculty members and librarians.
  10. Muster roll/monthly attendance statement in case of biometric attendance.
  11. Sample question papers of last examinations conducted.
  12. Statement of results of the last examination.
  13. Accession register of the library.
  14. Proof of purchase of books/equipment etc. since the last inspection.
  15. Software licenses and proof of purchase.

11.00 - 13.00 Hrs: Inspection of Infrastructure: Visit academic areas (studios & lecture halls), labs, workshops, shared facilities, sports, and hostel, etc.

13.00 - 14.00 Hrs: Lunch

14.00 - 16.00 Hrs: Visit Students’ Work: Work carried out in Design, Construction, Fine arts, Model making, Graphics, Electives, Thesis, etc. Work displayed should represent the cross-section of the students.

16.00 - 17.00 Hrs: Interaction with the students (in absence of Principal and faculty).

Day 2: 18-05-2019, Saturday: #

9.30 - 10.15 Hrs: Interactions with faculty (in absence of the Principal).

10.15 - 11.00 Hrs: Exit meeting with The Principal and Management

11.00 Hrs onward: uploading of the report.


MCAP LIBRARY WORKING SUMMARY #

Timings Monday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. & Saturday:9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (open on all working days)

OPERATIONAL DETAILS #

Available total seating capacity is 40 in the library. An average of 15 to 20 students and faculties visit per day. Library rules are prominently displayed on the notice board. Koha, an open-source library automation software is used for handling the library operations. Books are organized at their designated location on the shelves according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme.

LIBRARY SECTIONS #

a) Maintenance Section: Here books are stored and displayed while being processed for circulation. Available collections include titles in architecture, urban design, town planning, landscape architecture, architecture history, architecture drawings, architectural acoustics, interior design specializing in office, hospitals, restaurant, and hotels. Along with these, civil, mathematics, humanities, general collections are shelved. Additionally, about 583 volumes of books are related to the syllabus are accessed in this section.
b) Reference Section: Holdings of this section include encyclopedias, dictionaries, standards, handbooks, atlas, manuals, and study materials for competitive examinations, syllabus, and previous years question papers of various examinations of CUSAT University and MCAP internal tests. A collection of 172 books, 26 dissertations, and internship portfolios are placed in closed access. These books are issued for reference as well as for overnight reading to students. A separate manual catalog is provided.
c) Circulation Section: Books are issued on loan and received back at the counter where on an average of 10 to 15 books are processed. Temporary issue service for one day is also available. The library has a property counter at the entrance. Students, faculty, and visitors are required to avail the facility to keep their personal belongings. d) Periodical Section: Periodical collections display 5 international journals, 13 national journals, 3 national periodicals, and 4 gratis journals. Back issues of these journals are kept inside the rack. Newspapers are displayed daily here. These are also archived and made available on request.
e) Electronic Resources: This section includes 6 portal accessed e-journals and 33 CDs/ compact discs. Through the digital library platform, students can easily access electronic resources. Username and password for accessing e-journals via their portals are displayed at the notice board.
f) New Arrivals Section: Newly acquired and accessioned content are exhibited at this rack. They get posted on notice board and sent via email to staff. Selected studio submissions, planning reports, tour journals or any other project portfolios are too placed here.
